Welcome to Methlick cricket Club - Child Wellbeing and Protection

Officer (CWPO) and the Protection of Vunerable Groups (PVG)

  PhilCox2

Having taken over the role of Child Wellbeing and Protection Officer from my dear friend Mark Colley-Davies earlier this year, it is timely that I should introduce myself to young cricketers and parents involved in the Junior Section of Methlick Cricket Club.

I have been a member of the club since 2006 and continued to play until ‘old  age’ and years of wear and tear on various parts of my body caused an end to my playing career after 60 years man and boy! I still want to remain part of the club so I agreed to succeed Mark as CWPO, as well as doing some umpiring when I can.

My background is in teaching. I taught P.E. and Maths for 20 years in South Essex/ East London before ending my career in a village Primary School in North Essex, as assistant to my Headteacher wife Corinne ( I’ve always known my place!! )

Before this turns into too much of a CV, my intention is to carry on the great work established by Mark as CWPO, this being but one of his major contributions to the running of MCC over many years. I hope to be able to attend Junior Section Presentation event on Sunday 17th December when I will be able to meet you in person.

Best wishes,

Phil Cox
